Leaders of Tomorrow

Remembering Nikeesha Fletcher

By September 4, 2015No Comments

On July 28, 2015, we as a community lost a beautiful soul in Nikeesha Fletcher at the tender age of 41. Nikeesha worked through the National Black MBA Association Austin Chapter to mentor and develop countless high school students in the Greater Austin area via its Leaders of Tomorrow program.

Since 1992, the National Black MBA Association, through the Leaders of Tomorrow program, has provided mentors who coach students on a consistent basis in college preparation, academic success, leadership, public speaking, social engagement, networking, and goal setting to develop discipline, set and achieve high academic standards, and implement ways to serve their communities.

Advancing through the leadership ranks of the National Black MBA Association Austin Chapter, from mentor ultimately to Vice President of Education, Nikeesha Fletcher’s impact was felt throughout the organization, and the community. Through the years, Nikeesha has touched close to 200 local students from over 24 different Austin Area High Schools. With her help, the Austin L.O.T. Program has given out tens of thousands of dollars in scholarships, as well as a L.O.T. Case Competition National Championship in 2009. She has watched many of these students matriculate from 9th grade through 12th grade, and into college. Because of Nikeesha, students have walked away with both fun memories and valuable lessons that they will cherish forever.

We would like to keep her dream alive and her efforts pushing forward by establishing this annual scholarship fund in her honor. She believed that our youth were the Leaders of Tomorrow. With your help, we can continue her legacy.

Please help us keep Nikeesha’s vision alive by volunteering with our Leaders of Tomorrow program and/or donating to her memorial scholarship fund at https://www.youcaring.com/Nikeesha-Fletcher-Scholarship-Fund.

Nikeesha Fletcher was a proud graduate of the University of Alabama. #RollTide She also earned her MBA at Virginia Commonwealth University.
